A Holding In Common Let us go forth on this day with a holding in common. The soul orients itself to the still and the unspoken; the aspirations that form in the darkness, the secluded thoughts that take shape in the quiet. The soul is a lone venturer; wary of over-reliance, resolute in will and integrity. Yet, even as my soul is on a journey so is yours and if they ever meet the recognition of such is mutual gain. A holding in common of those things which we both value is a coming together of the same. A holding in common of Love Respect Patience Tolerance a commitment to work together to improve our own selves and our world an intent to live sustainably and responsibly a desire to work for economic and social justice. I cannot do this alone as well as I can do it with you. A holding in common increases the possibility of new accomplishment deepens the bond of human connection lessens the intimidation of the world. With each word With each embrace With each mindful breath is a holding in common that finds expression in the lives of us all. Live well as we live together. From this day on. From this day forward.
