There are so many ways in which the world
attempts to shut down our hearts;
to close us off from our own innate intelligence,
to diminish our sense of mutual proximity to each other.
The world is relentless in its pursuits.
It does not take a day off or call in sick at work.
It sits in the empty seat next to us on our daily commute to reality.
Refute the self-tendency to isolate.
Refute the self-tendency to condemn.
Embrace the world at large
in the limitless space of your heart
that exists in this instant,
the current expression of the universe.
